When to Change Your AC Filter: Homeowner’s Checklist

Introduction

A clean filter is vital for AC efficiency, indoor air quality, and preventing system overload. Here’s a simple checklist to know exactly when and how to swap or clean your filter.

Why Change Your Filter Regularly?

  • Airflow: A clogged filter chokes airflow, making your unit work harder.

  • Efficiency: Dirty filters increase energy use by up to 15%.

  • Longevity: Protects coils and blower motor from dust build-up.

    • Reusable: Vacuum off dust, rinse under water, air-dry fully before reuse.

    • Restore power and test the system.
